Pacific Coastal Seascape in Oil on Canvas
Dynamic seascape by Evelyn Webb Meck (American, 1915-2011). Waves are crashing in around large rocks that are just offshore. In the background, a large cliff stretches across the composition, creating a dramatic backdrop. Seabirds take flight above the water.

Evelyn Webb Meck (American, 1915-2011) was one of six children born to Florence Cowles and George Webb. She grew up in Watsonville and later graduated from Palo Alto High School. Evelyn lived over 50 years in Capitola. She was a cosmetologist and then took up painting when she retired, turning her shop into an art studio.
