This vintage hand wrought Austrian signed bust sculpture by Karl Schmidt is dated and signed. it is from 1989. it is one of a kind. The hand hammered Alpaca silver and brass make a rich looking combination. Karl Schmidt worked for the well known sculptor Hagenhauer until 1987. The influence of Hagenhauer's work is apparent. It is signed in the back and dated but hard to see. The woman is faceless and her abundant hair curls in brass make are very sculptural.
This is a wonderful sculpture that was lightly polished. This can go both in a modern setting or transitional or traditional.
