Each end panel of the jardiniere showcases an additional expertly painted floral botanical display and the corners are decorated in blue and yellow decor riche. Designed by artist Alfred Beau of the Porquier factory, it is signed on the underside with the early overlapping PB mark (no serif) of Porquier Beau and "Ploneis" for the townspeople depicted. Dates from 1875 - 1903.

Alfred Beau was an artist of the first order, and his magnificent designs have historically been the most sought after by Quimper collectors. The handpainted decor on Quimper faience was applied when the piece was still porous so mistakes could not be corrected, making the detailed designs of Alfred Beau faience all the more impressive.

In very good antique condition with an 1/8" chip, tiny glaze chips, and wear on the rim, and tiny chips, glaze chips, and wear on the feet. See photos for these condition issues and please request additional info or pictures if needed.
