Marcel E. Moussalli Scarlett Tanager Bird-Porcelain Figurine Vintage
Exceptional fantastic condition vintage--no breaks, cracks or damage. This is a beautiful piece of special edition art, considered rare by artist Marcel E. Moussalli. Colors are vibrant. This one has the number 25 on it, hand-painted and signed by M. E. Moussalli.
Moussalli came to the US in 1966 from Iraq. He became a naturalized citizen and pursued his passion for art and clay in Illinois. Only the finest jewelry stores and department stores carried his limited edition hand-made and painted art bird figurines. Moussalli was killed in a car accident in 1981 and production ceased. His work is featured in the Illinois State Museum and is exceedingly rare.
All figurines were produced in very limited quantities and only for a short period of time. They don't come to the market often and then rarely in this condition. This bird is perfect!
