This is a wonderful and highly original bauhaus pendant lamp by designer otto müller. Designed in 1931, this series of lamps was designed to compete with the danish ph-lamps by poul henningsen. This one - with a 30 cm glass shade - is the 'p3'. The name ‘sistrah’ derives from the german phrase, “sie strahlt hell” - which translates as “she shines brightly”. Outside germany, the name megaphos was used. An ingenious design, this lamp combines several glass parts - both transparant and opaline - to create a light that is pleasant and, very important, not blinding or dazzling. A great and quintessential bauhaus design. This particular pendant comes in a very good and highly original condition with no faults. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
