it is entirely paneled on the sides and back, at the front 10 solid oak drawers each topped with two ornate cast iron shell handles and label holders, some drawers have simple shell handles.
a storage box at the bottom center.
an oak plinth at the front, there is no plinth on the sides or back, but it is also possible to add one if you prefer this finish.
we love the pretty molded paneling on the other sides, the molded finishing strips around the edge of the top. The top is made of thick pine.
the entire piece of furniture has traces of its former life, old patina, small defects in the wood, marks, small gaps, inherent to its great age and its previous lives.
the piece of furniture has been completely restored, sanded, treated, lightly stained, then protected with a transparent matte varnish inside and out.
the drawers slide correctly.
be careful, this piece of furniture is obviously quite heavy.
