Fritz Vahle was a student of Alexander Kanoldt. He worked as a freelance painter in Stendal from 1945 to 1956. He created a series of views of old Stendal, mainly commissioned by the town council.
He taught from 1957 in Dortmund and from 1959 in Pforzheim at the art academies there as a lecturer and professor. In addition to his graphic and glass art works, he also made a name for himself as a designer of tapestries.
In 1954, the rug he exhibited at the 10th Triennale in Milan was awarded the Diplome d'honneu.
Moved to Darmstadt in 1956. Member of the Deutscher Werkbund since 1970. Since 1978 freelance work in Darmstadt and Westermarkeldorf on the island of Fehmarn. 1978 Johann Merck award from the city of Darmstadt.
