Handwoven in wool, this 10x16 antique Persian Kerman rug originating circa 1920-1930, is a masterpiece from one of the most sought-after weaving traditions in Persian city rugs.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft will appreciate this masterpiece as one of the finest antique rugs we have ever curated. The design features dense and detailed geometric patterns, and a smart use of red in the open field and blue medallion atop the intricately designed field. Connoisseurs will further admire that its size is exceptional, its colors exemplary, and its design is particularly near to our hearts. Our Principal Jahahshah Nazmiyal admires open field rugs as some of the most devoted works in weaving, much more difficult to achieve than all-over rugs, and made for more special spaces—often aristocratic commissions and custom pieces of similar, regal provenance.
Condition:
This antique Persian Kerman rug further enjoys great condition for its age and origin. It is an extremely collectible piece and ready for the floor.
