Guy Buffet (1943-2023, Hawaii/France) Original Drawing Titled "So Happy Together" Image size 14''X 10', with frame 24''x19'''
Guy Buffet (1943–2023) was a French-American artist known for his whimsical and colorful paintings depicting chefs, waiters, and lively restaurant scenes. Born in France in 1943, Buffet demonstrated artistic talent from a young age and went on to study at the Beaux-Arts Academy in Paris. His work, often characterized by a playful and nostalgic style, captured the elegance and humor of the culinary world, making him particularly popular among food and wine enthusiasts.
Buffet’s career took him around the world, including extensive time in Hawaii, where he lived and painted tropical landscapes alongside his well-known restaurant and café-themed artwork. His art has been featured in galleries, private collections, and high-end commercial settings, and he collaborated with several luxury brands, including Champagne houses and cruise lines.
Buffet’s legacy is one of warmth and joy, blending French sophistication with a lighthearted, illustrative approach that resonated widely. His passing in 2023 marked the end of a long and celebrated artistic journey, but his works continue to be appreciated by collectors worldwide.
