The sides with reverse painted blue glass panels with floral motifs. The top with star inlay. This lovely box is quite architectural in form with three set back tiers on top and an undulating fruit wood molding on the base. Likely made as a Valentine gift with the inside personalized by the receiver. A wonderful piece of folk art possibly made by a sailor on a whaling boat.
