Murano sommerso piece for sale. Beautiful classic vintage piece. This item is a mid-century Venetian Murano Sommerso art-glass bowl or vide-poche, likely dating
from the 1960s to early 1970s. It measures approximately 14 × 14 × 7 cm and is formed as a heavy,
sharply faceted geometric block with a deep cobalt-blue inner well, an amber/golden intermediate layer,
and a clear outer casing. This combination of submerged colored layers and extensively ground and
polished facets is characteristic of Murano Sommerso production. Several Murano workshops, including
Mandruzzato, Campanella, Bucella Cristalli, Oball, and V. Nason, produced closely related faceted bowls,
so without a factory label, signature, or documented provenance I would describe this as
Murano/Venetian rather than assign it definitively to Mandruzzato or another specific maker.
The photographs indicate very good condition, with no apparent chips or cracks, an important
consideration with heavily faceted glass. The strong blue-and-amber color combination, substantial
geometric form, and 14 cm size make it a desirable example of its type.
