Wonderful and fun painting with elements of Post Impressionism, Neo-Primitivism, and Expressionism and Outsider art.
Circa 1950's - this painting has thick impasto, vivid color and bold swirling brush strokes. Painted by Victor J. Silvestri (1930-2020) in upstate New York, who was both a Scientist and a prolific Artist. In addition to many paintings and sculptures, he is also credited with over 27 patents in the semiconductor industry.
Titled 'Frank the Barber' it depicts a small town barber shop in a bold but lighthearted way.
Canvas size is 24 inches by 36 inches and it is mounted in a heavy 3" vintage wooden frame with gold accents.
Signed in lower left and also on verso.
