The village is only accessible by sea or by walking down stairs. The most popular stairway is the Gradinata del Pennino, which is located in front of the San Rocco church.

The village is car-free and has a relaxed pace. It's arranged like an amphitheater on the sea and is surrounded by nets on the quay.
