Crafted from copper with … Read more A minimalist wall or ceiling fixture, model c/1090, designed and produced by hans-agne jakobsson, markaryd, sweden. Crafted from copper with a deep patina and featuring an acrylic diffuser. It has a strict rectangular shape with two lamp holders. This fixture is new old stock and has never been used. Bears the original manufacturer's label. Swedish industrial designer hans-agne jakobsson, born on the island of gotland in 1919, began his career as a carpenter's apprentice in his teenage years. Following his pursuit of architecture studies, he joined general motors as a designer. In 1951, he established hans-agne jakobsson ab in the quaint community of markaryd. The factory is most renowned today for its mid-century lighting fixtures, though it also produced small furniture and various other interior design objects. The two ashtrays available for sale serve as remarkable examples of jakobsson's talent in merging craftsmanship and industrial production to craft minimalistic and timeless objects.
