Moigniez at … Read more This bronze sculpture with a moderately nuanced patina, entitled “The Pheasant and the Weasel”, was made by J. Moigniez at the end of the 19th century. The sculpture depicts a majestic pheasant perched on a rock, with a small weasel at its feet. The sculpture's minute details, such as the pheasant's feathers and texture, demonstrate the artist's skill. Jules Moigniez (1835-1894): Student of Paul Comoléra, he exhibited for the first time at the Universal Exhibition of 1855 and obtained an honorable mention at the Salon of 1859. He was present at the Universal Exhibition of 1878. Ill for several years, he committed suicide on May 29, 1894 in Saint-Martin-du-Tertre, where he was buried.
