I purchased them from Kwei Kee in Stanley, Hong … Read more A pair of antique Chinese porcelain melon-shaped jars converted to lamps. I purchased them from Kwei Kee in Stanley, Hong Kong, in 2001. The lamp bases are hand thrown and hand painted in Famille Verte colors in the theme of Children at Play in scenic settings. There is Chinese inscription on the back of both lamps. The shades are lined silk that sit atop the light socket; the bases are rosewood. There are in-line on/off switches. The lamp bases are 13" high and 9" wide; the shades are 13" high and 16 1/2" wide; overall height is 27". The lamps have adjustable stems to allow shades to be fixed at the optimum height. See less
