Antique Folk Art Amish Purple and Dark Blue Quilt with Hand Stitched Floral Motifs
An unusual antique Holmes county Amish folk art style purple and blue quilt. Lots of hand stitching. Some of the large squares features a sunflower, flower or dahlia design with pink hand stitching. The other squares featuring rectangles. On the back you can see clear of what the designs actually are. The designs depict the times the creator lived and worked in. Lots of flowers, tulips and sunflowers. The arching large leaf design on the sides are sometimes typical of the German Amish cookies they created in their kitchens. Evidently on the back they did not have enough of the same color so they compensated in one corner. A few stains and imperfections as shown in photos. Dearly loved over the years. This is what brings the rare true beauty to this Amish Folk Art light weight summer quilt. 77 inches by 63 inches. Please note all photos for they too are a part of our descriptions. Inv. eec
