A sublime trio of two authentic Barcelona lounge chairs and an ottoman, produced in Italy under license by Alivar for the Alivar Museum collection. The Barcelona chair dates to 1929 and remains one of the most iconic designs in seating nearly 100 years on.
The stainless steel frames and cantilevered backs give them a subtle bounce, providing a gentle feel despite their characteristically Bauhaus appearance. The front and rear legs come together in a swooping x, joining seamlessly at the intersection.
This set comes with an original certificate of authenticity, indicating the date of first purchase, solidifying its value for collectors.

- The frames are in close to perfect condition, standing as a testament to the Alivar’s craftsmanship. The cushions bear a … moreThe frames are in close to perfect condition, standing as a testament to the Alivar’s craftsmanship. The cushions bear a refined patina, both softened with time and perfectly robust. The suede bears several almost imperceptibly slight imperfections, accrued over time. The frames have been polished and the suede surfaces cleaned. The seat cushions are secured to the chairs with straps/buckles on the underside of the cushion. One strap+buckle had become disconnected from one of the cushions, so we fashioned a new one. It functions identically to the original and is nearly identical in appearance.
