As a traveler drawn to the mystery of the unreachable horizon line, Bergey creates each piece with a unique and familiar resonance to draw us to her journey. She uses muted neutral shades with subtle hues of color, nebulous shapes, and nostalgic forms to generate a particular reminiscence for each of us. Her atmospheric white space gives the mind a moment to rest and reflect. Meanwhile, her texture and composition of natural materials recall her eco-centric approach to life and art. Each piece draws us into the present moment, suggesting we embrace our curiosity.

Many of her works are a "play of light" that shifts from day to night, moment to moment, creating a sense of nostalgia, revealing perpetual layers and an individual juncture experience for each viewer.

PROCESS:
This work began on the sewing machine by stitching strips of muslin fabric, testing the stitch strength, stretching the completed work, and then painting it with white and grey acrylic paint medium to accentuate the horizon line and the seams.
