This elegant small console “Retour d’Égypte” from France, circa 1815, reflects the fascination with Egyptian art that became very popular in Europe at the beginning of the 19th century.
Made from mahogany veneered on poplar, the piece of furniture impresses with its fine workmanship and artistic design. Particularly noteworthy are the carved women's heads and feet made of solid wood, which are typical of this style and give the piece of furniture a majestic look.
