A stunning mid century modernist space age hanging light attributed to Ernest IgL. It features a metal cylindrical white enameled frame which surrounds the single bulb allowing the light to shine through the holes as well as the top and bottom giving a beautiful circular diffuse light affect in the room. The outer shades are edged with polished brass bands. The chandelier attaches to the ceiling with a white covered wire 13" long. Comes with the original mounting bracket and brass canopy. Excellent condition with original parts.
Czech modern designer Ernest IgL was born in 1920 in Prague. After graduating from the Munich Academy of Visual Arts, he founded the IGL Studio in Munich. After World War II, he worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, and industrial designer.
