The niche is triangular … Read more Beautiful set composed of a virgin in polychrome enameled earthenware in its dark oak hanging chapel. The niche is triangular in shape and topped with 3 serpentines. The statue rests on a base surrounded by Breton-style scrolls. The niche is to hang on the wall. It measures 43 cm high and is in good condition.
The Virgin and Child is made of polychrome enameled earthenware. It has small cooking defects – bubbles – on the back as well as on the front of its chasuble. The back is flat and not painted like 19th century religious subjects. The top of the baby Jesus' head has a small chip. Otherwise it is in good condition with no cracks. The blank is not attached to the base I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
