The lid of the box has a wood panel with a parrot eating a cracker, an advertisement for the Dozier-Weyl Cracker Company of St. Louis. The DW Cracker Company was started in 1872 in Missouri and by the early 1900's had merged with another company to become the National Biscuit Company, now known as Nabisco. The advertisement reads, always ask for the parrot brand, Dozier-Weyle Cracker Co. St. Louis, patented June 19th '83, trade mark. A fun piece that can be used for display or storage!
