This painting is signed J Suchet

Joseph Suchet is a Marseille painter (1824-1896), he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Marseille and became a specialist in landscapes but especially seascapes. It depicts with great realism the life of fishermen in the Marseille region and the coastal landscapes.
Several of his works are kept in museums, including that of Fine Arts of Marseille and the Cantini Museum.

Good general condition of the painting, very beautiful golden frame: some gaps and wear
