Bentley The Story Hardcover in Box by Andrew Frankel 2003.
* Publisher : REDWOOD PUBLISHING; First Edition (January 1, 2003)
* Language : English. From W.O. Bentley, who founded Bentley Motors in 1919, to the current team of over 4,000 dedicated employees, the company’s extraordinary cars have always been designed and built by exceptional people using only the finest of materials. They have always been driven by exceptional people, too. From the passionate Bentley Boys and Girls who raced the cars in the 1920s, encouraging W.O. Bentley to achieve ever greater feats of engineering, to the visionary Bentley owners of today, Bentley drivers help to shape the world around them.
Bentley : The Bentley Story Book is well-researched, well-written, lavishly illustrated throughout with artistic black and white archives and pictures and Color photography. It is dated as it is published around the time of The EXP8/ Speed 8 Bentley Race car win of 2003 and concludes with that Wonderful albeit sadly Very Audi(Not very Bentley) But neat racer that won Le Mans. The Book concludes with the chapter on Bentley(under Sadly VW Tutelage/ownership)' Return to Le Mans, even It's in-house fellow racing Competitor of Audi R8's as well as a large beautiful Photo of the Car dueling with a Corvette C5-R AT Le Mans. It does not apologize for Rolls depreciating attitude towards Bentley except in it's later years(80s with The Mulsanne Turbo,Turbo R.) But it is not completely Hostile to Post-W.o. Bentley. His Life story, Struggles, the famous Blower cars and his strong contempt for supercharging is all covered here in a box/presentation like book, once you open the black box you take out the Large Black book, Coffee-table style and you immerse yourself into Rich History with great photographic spreads. My Only compliant is the book when not in it's presentation box gets dirty on it's dust jacket very quickly. This book is a Must for the Bentley Fan, Motorsport fan or Car History buff.
