Training at the Brussels Academy, his work embodies firm and realistic styles with an impressionistic touch. Tielens also spent time as a mural painter, and is the artist behind the triptych for the “French School” in Brussels with over 260 paintings sold in auction.

Antique Framed Still Life Oil Painting On original Canvas. This exceptional still life depicts a successful trip down to the fish market on the wharves, with the promise of a particularly wonderful dinner for the evening's repast. The fish appear to be Mediterranean types, with the small but scrumptious oysters a perfect appetizer. The straw was used to carry the fish and line the basket on the way home. The artist has definitely shown a particular talent for realism for texture even though his technique has a touch of impressionistic flair. Muted earth tones ensure this work will blend with most any color scheme. The painting is in wonderful condition with its original gold wood frame. Recent professional cleaning.
