Gorgeous artisan hand-painted vintage trunk chest, both functional and beautiful! The details:
-painted in an aged folk-Hungarian style, featuring reds, yellows, blues, chartreuse, charcoals, and browns for colors, and motifs of birds, flowers and vines, and geometric patterns
-beautifully rich worn-stained wood top
-4 drawers-- 2 smaller on each end, 2 larger in the middle, all working and gliding well
-antique hand-carved wooden handles added to the drawers for charm! (piece is vintage itself, but the handles alone are antique)
-backside is painted too
-fully wood frame, top, and drawers
-measures 67.25" L x 20.5" W on the top (*21.5" W if measuring at the widest where the handles jut forward) x 16.25" H

- In great condition! The trunk itself is vintage, estimated to be roughly ~25-30 years old, but the handles are hand-carved … moreIn great condition! The trunk itself is vintage, estimated to be roughly ~25-30 years old, but the handles are hand-carved antique wood, which were added to the trunk whenever it was custom painted by a folk artist to give it an aged feeling. See the close-up photos of the handles for natural crackling and crazing to the varnish, and natural wear that has come from age. The hand-painted details on the trunk are whimsical and are gestural rather than perfectly realistic, so all elements have some irregularities. The stained top has a worn, aged wood finish with some imperfections here (see zoomed in pics). This adds character to the piece! The insides of the drawers are unfinished natural wood, and the drawers glide easily (they do come all the way out of desired, however with their safety catches they are intentionally meant to need extra strength when pulling them out completely. As with all vintage and antique items, there is some natural wear and age apparent, which just adds character to the piece! less
