A beautiful Cedar Trunk Chest made of solid cedar wood. Exquisite chest with cedar wood inside in both large compartment and drawer. Both compartments can be locked with the original key. This chest was given as a "Hope Chest" to the original owner by her parents when she was a young girl. She lived to be 106 years old.
West Branch Novelty Company was a furniture manufacturer in Milton ,Penn. It was founded in 1893. They made bamboo furniture until 1915. The beginning of the 1900 they also began making cedar chests. The chests were sold in department stores across the US and other parts of the World. The inside of the chests is solid aromatic red cedar which makes it a wonderful storage chest for blankets, wool items, pillows, clothing that needs to be put away. It's a piece that can be handed down for generations. See less
