Javier Marin (b. 1962) is a contemporary Mexican Sculptor known for his large-scale sculptures focusing on the human form. He has exhibited extensively for the past 30 years, and his striking works are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art; he also participated in the Venice Biennale. In 2013 he started the Javier Marin Foundation to support emerging artists.
A Certificate of Authority from Iturralde Gallery is available. The sculpture is unmarked.
I acquired the bronze sculpture in 1998 from Iturallde Gallery in Los Angeles. The sculpture came from Javier Marin’s foundry in Mexico City.
