The Staff company was founded in 1945 by Alfred Staff in Lemgo ( Germany ) and was one of the pioneers of lighting technology in Germany. The company's product range included light tube, light ceiling and exterior lighting systems, track, spotlights, equipment lights as well as recessed and surface-mounted downlights. Numerous awards document the commitment to good design, which was also demonstrated by the “Design und Licht” foundation, founded by Alfred Staff in 1987. In 1994, Zumtobel took over Staff.
