Omega pendant lamp by Vico Magistretti for Artemide, Italy, 1962 "The Omega lamp, in the pendant and ceiling versions, is … Read more Omega pendant lamp by Vico Magistretti for Artemide, Italy, 1962 "The Omega lamp, in the pendant and ceiling versions, is part of the first series of lamps designed by Vico Magistretti in the first 10 years of Artemide's history. The lamp is characterized by a diffuser (also used in the Erse, Clitunno and Clinio lamps) in glass, frosted internally, made by removing "two slices, horizontally, from a sphere of smoked glass, placed around an internal globe of opaline" supported by a cross structure in brass sheets that connect to a rigid stem; the diffuser is connected to the structure thanks to four brass clip elements. On the occasion of the Cologne Furniture Fair, in 1999, Artemide put 18 lamps created in the sixties by some of the most famous Italian designers, including Omega, back into production, collecting them in the Modern Classic catalogue."
