Compact and sleek, this attractive loveseat from designer John Van Koert exhibits his "fresh enthusiasm", as heralded by Drexel at the time. This vintage example remains stylish and contemporary with a distinctive lower profile and subtle color palette.
John Van Koert was a versatile craftsman known for advocating modernity in American design. After stints with Harry Winston and as head of design at Towle Silversmiths (renowned for the Contour collection), Van Koert joined Drexel and designed the Profile line which ran from 1955 to 1961. Van Koert would also design the Casa Del Sol and Projection collections for Drexel.

Comfortable and sturdy, the interior filler at the bottom of the seat cushion exhibits age-related stiffness. The walnut legs are solid and level with some finish loss. Presents well with any desired refresh quite doable. less
