Size: 19.3 x 23.6 inches (including frame)
A very pleasant modernist landscape oil composition dated 1977, and painted by the established Swedish artist Ture Fabiansson (1910-1994), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, The Museum of Art in Gothenburg, Jönköping Museum, Borås Art Museum, and many others.
The composition presents a forest landscape setting, with simplified trees, rolling hills, and a pathway that weaves through the background. The focal point is a striking orange tree that contrasts against the muted greens, browns, and earth tones of the surrounding foliage.
Modernist in its ethos, the artist has skilfully simplified the composition into bold, flat colour planes and geometric shapes, and there is a focus on form, shape, and colour rather than precise detail.
The brushwork is loose yet controlled, suggesting a painterly technique with visible strokes adding light texture.
This oil on canvas is housed in complementary gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some scuffing.
