The two marble planes are two solid piece of marble block you agonize to touch and caress them, imprisoned by the brass planes.
You could be scared by the perceived weight and apparent difficulties in mounting/dismounting it. False impression the table four pieces are easily assembled by two person, with four bolts and to reposition only three pieced and two bolts.
The brass is a thin layer on plywood.
The table pieces are framed using composite marble that is a thin layer of marble and thin layer of honeycomb and epoxy resin that firmly join the two. This confer extra solidity and lightness to the 2 cm composite slab used to build each table top. The weight, with reference to a solid piece of marble block is reduced about five times.
