Distinguished by its refined proportions and outstanding original condition, this American Empire period armoire represents the pinnacle of early 19th-century urban craftsmanship. The impressive case piece showcases book-matched flame mahogany veneers arranged in dramatic patterns that highlight the exceptional quality of this prized mahogany
Standing approximately 6.5 feet tall, the wardrobe features a striking broken-pediment crown, characteristic of the finest Empire period pieces. The single-door design incorporates the original glass panel and is adorned with its original brass hardware, including an exceptionally rare surviving silk tassel key pull with carved wooden beads and an acanthus leaf keyhole escutcheon.
The interior provides ample storage with multiple shelves, perfect for displaying fine linens or clothing. The single drawer at the base offers additional storage space, retaining its original brass pull
This armoire would make a stunning addition to any serious collection of American furniture or serve as a functional statement piece in a traditional home setting. Its impressive scale and pristine condition make it an increasingly rare find in today's market
