Fritz Klimsch: Studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin and was then a student of Fritz Schaper; founded the Berlin Secession in 1898 together with Walter Leistikow and Max Liebermann; from 1912 member of the Prussian Academy of Arts and from 1916 its senator; since 1921 professor at the United State Schools in Berlin; received the Federal Cross of Merit in 1960; artistically influenced by his study trips to Italy and Greece
