Crafted by hand from stone, most likely yellow Shoushan stone, with waxy smooth feeling
Exquisitely carved in high relief cameo flowers, yellow against chiseled black background
Brass hinged lid
Long rectangular form, for brushes possibly or gloves or other trinkets
Circa late 19th/early 20th century, late Qing dynasty China
