A large, rare floorstanding papier-mache Golden Pheasant sculpture on his original red perch, by acclaimed Mexican artist Sergio Bustamante. The colours and execution are exquisite, with relief to the feathered areas and gilding on the head. Dating from the 1970s, the piece is signed and numbered 20/100. There are some age-related cracks to the lacquer on the stand base, but the bird itself is in excellent condition, as the photos show.The bird itself is an impressive 48.5 inches high.
