I have purchased and sold some great pieces by Austin Productions in the past, but this limited edition After Modigliani "Tete de Femme 1961 has to be the best. She is taupey beige in color, with no visible cracks or chips and a truly serine presence.
Austin Productions was founded in 1952 as a museum reproduction company located in Brooklyn NY, it relocated to Holbrook NY in 1971. It ceased production in 2009 increasing collectability and value of their beautifully realised sculptures. Austin pieces are most often cast in Durastone, a mix of crushed stone and resin that can resemble limestone or plaster but considerably lighter in weight.
"Tete de Femme" is a stunning piece of timeless art, a perfect addition to any environment from Traditional, Post Modern to Contemporary.
