An antique sculpture bronze gilt sparrow bird attributed to listed French artist Paul Comoléra (1818-1897). The bird is depicted in a lying pose. It is well cast with fine detail and is marked on the base of the tail. It retains the lovely patina to the surface. A very fine collectible work of art, superb placed upon a book as a paperweight and a handsome desk accessory.
Comoléra was a well known sculptor famous for his animals and birds who taught Jules Moigniez. Books not included.
