Souvenir D'Egipte "Queen Nefertiti" 1930s - Bronze H 20 cm
Nefertiti followed her husband, whose disturbing physiognomy has fascinated and mesmerized us for centuries, when he moved the capital from Thebes to Amarna, abolishing the cult of the god Amun and establishing a monotheistic religion whose god was Aten, the sun disk. The couple changed their names along with their residence: Amenhotep (Peace of Amun) became Akhenaten (Useful to Aten); Nefertiti (The Beautiful One Has Come) called herself Nefer-neferu-Aten (Aten is radiant because the beautiful one has come).
The queen died in 1339 BC, at the age of 28, leaving six children.
