Designers will particularly appreciate its size—one of the best and most versatile one can find in Persian rugs of its period that lends to so many spaces today. Keen eyes will note an interesting stylistic variation from the late 19th century; beige-cream field underscores geometric florals in colorful tones in the field and border—an interesting element and one of the many collectible charms of such a regal, yet warm and comfortable Persian of its period. The border features palmettes and vine scrolls in rich terracotta creating a perfect frame for the central design.

Farahan carpets, developed in 19th-century West Central Persia for regional aristocrats, uniquely combined geometric tribal patterns with refined curvilinear designs, gaining Western recognition at the 1873 Vienna Exhibition.The attention to detail in scale, texture and movement of color is matched only by its equally rare condition.
