Pandamonium is a wonderful, colorful and special giant panda painting created by Artist, illustrator Glen Thomas and signed in the bottom left corner. This wonderful painting shows a panda bear in its natural habitat. The panda's expressive face takes centre stage. Its dark, shiny eyes look directly at the viewer and convey a mixture of curiosity and serenity. The animal's characteristic black and white fur is depicted with remarkable attention to detail. This acrylic and watercolor painting is on gypsum board.
Thomas was well known for the illustrations he produced in the 1930s and 40s for such magazines as Colliers Liberty, Saturday Evening Post, Look, and Ladies Home Journal. This painting was done in 1985. It is my understanding it was done for Smithsonian Magazine. It's a terrific and timely piece as the 2 giant pandas just made their debut 3 days ago at the National Zoo in Washington.
The painting is framed under glass in a aluminum frame with a 1/4" shiny face and 1" brushed aluminum sides.
