Lampshade Ercole Barovier
Rostrato glass table lamp by Ercole Barovier.
Glass rostrating is a particular technique in which the glass is pulled hot with pliers to form points.
This technique was invented and patented by Ercole Barovier who took over the helm of the family business in the 1920s and remained there until his death in 1972.
The Barovier glass factory today called Barovier & Toso, was founded in the 13th century and is therefore the sixth oldest family business in the world still in business.
The lamp is working.
It is in good conservative condition, with some small breaks and missing tips as shown in the photos. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
