Minimalist in form Jared rejects a flat pictorial expression and mundane materials with emphasis on tactile value . His work strives for a visceral response triggered by the heavy use of texture playing with light and shadow.
Like most of Jared’s work, he experiments with processes that represent time. In this series he captures movement and memorialises time. Here the subject is still time, suspended for a moment there is a stillness in common. The brutal yet precise expression is almost sculptural, and this complexity gives this series a captivating energy.
Texture is played with by using mediums such as stucco and clay mixed with pigments that are layered to create a dramatic 3D narrative. Signed by Maker See less
