The long-curved stem … Read more This adorable authentic brooch is from Tiffany & Co. by designer Elsa Peretti from her Amapola Collection. The long-curved stem is crafted from 18k yellow gold with a polished finish and has a closed sepal bud with red silk petals attached inside the gold sepal. The pin followed the curved shape of the stem; and it comes with a safety clasp. The brooch is signed by the designer with the gold content.

Amapola is the Spanish word for "poppy." On September 27, 1920, the poppy became the official flower of The American Legion family to memorialize the soldiers who fought and died during the war. In 1924, the distribution of poppies became a national program of The American Legion.
