Admirers of the craft and keen eyes will note the large-scale central medallion and pictorials in the field corners are especially reminiscent of Khotan rugs and antique Chinese rugs—references to the lotus and vase pictorials, both celebrated motifs in these and other oriental provenances. In this piece, borders in beige and cream tones enclose a field of taupe and beige-brown tones, with several floral patterns in gold and brown hues, with black detailing the keen eye will further admire. This mid-century rug enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
