Majestic, large bronze bust with marble base depicting a young boy pouting, signed "Parente" on the side. Created by Neapolitan sculptor Francesco Parente in full Art Nouveau style in the early decades of the 20th century. The patina covering the entire sculpture is very beautiful. The skin tone has been chemically patinated in green, which has slightly changed to a very dark green in the hollows and a slightly lighter green in the more exposed parts.

Useful information for evaluating the item:
From an internet search, we find that Francesco Parente has numerous auction results with prices reaching as high as €12,000-15,000. We also found our own sculpture, a work entitled "Il Broncio" (The Sulk), sold at auction by Pandolfini for the first time in 2000 for 3,400,000 old lire, plus auction fees, bringing the total to almost 4,500,000 lire, which in today's terms would be equivalent to approximately €4,500. A second time, again at the Pandolfini auction house, it was sold for €1,573 including fees in 2004.

Francesco Parente (Naples 1885- Naples 1969) was an important Neapolitan sculptor of classical and realistic style, internationally renowned for the artistic quality and beauty of his bronze works.
