Featuring a bulbous center column with sprouting details, stylized here with daffodils and leaves, and five scroll arms that hold bobeches, with down-turned petal-shaped rims. When illuminated, the handcrafted chandelier acts as a striking floral centerpiece. The piece is rich with details, including scroll stems, lattice surface designs, rigaree trim, and a hanging center finiale; exhibiting a masterful flair in glass craftsmanship.

The glass houses on the island of Murano are famous for highly ornamented glass chandeliers created by the inflation of molten glass followed by cutting, pincering, and other rapidly executed decorations and details. The colored glass is achieved by adding selected metal oxides to the silica during melting. To achieve these glass variants, an incredible amount of accuracy is required in terms of proportions and timing. The style of this piece is a pared-down interpretation of the ‘Ca'Rezzonico’ style of chandeliers created by Giuseppe Briati in the 18th century. The ‘Ca'Rezzonico’ style is named for the Venetian palace, today a public museum dedicated to 18th century Venice, where Briati’s initial masterpiece resides. Both the colors and stylings of this piece return to notions of decadence and extravagance.
