"Nightfall" is an extra-large abstract expressionist oil and acrylic painting on a 60"x60" fine linen canvas by Trixie Pitts. Inspired by Tahitian Sunsets! What a WOW Factor! The palette includes many different red and pink hues including scarlet, magenta and rose. These colors look different at different times of the day, becoming much warmer in the evening light, when the rose is more muted and the scarlet more pronounced. The photos were taken in daylight. The varied brushwork and thin layers add to the movement and depth.
